I was taking two veterinarians to small claims court because my cat had died and I believed it was due to mistakes made by the veterinarians. I was told that even before I could get a trial date, I must have an expert witness to go over everything and state in writing a report on why he thinks the veterinarians did not hold to the standard of care. If the expert witness agreed that mistakes were made, the judge would set a trial date. The judge also wanted Curriculum Vitae. If it were not for Dr. Samuel Vaughn, I would have never had my case heard in court to prove what I knew all along, and that was that the veterinarians’ actions fell well below the standard of care.
