DR. VAUGHN IS A BIRDBRAIN! AGAIN!

Dr. Sam Vaughn is pleased to announce that he has met the rigorous requirements of being an Avian Specialist, which is sanctioned by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Even more rigorous than some human medical doctor specialties ,veterinarians in this practice specialty must prove that they are up to date on the latest medical and surgical principles every ten years.

In 1995 Dr. Vaughn was one of the second groups ever certified to Avian Specialty status. He was due to re-certify in 2005, but has fully met the requirements one year early, thus it will now be 2015 before Dr. Vaughn must test and re-certify again.

While Dr. Vaughn actually sees more dog and cat patients than bird/exotic patients, we think it is very valuable for the community to have a specialist in this species right here at home in Louisville. There are many good avian veterinarians but the only Board Certified Specialist is our own Dr. Sam Vaughn.
