Background

Dr Vaughn is recognized as an outstanding member of his professional society and community through his public works in the service animal arena. Chiefly among these are his involvement as veterinary service provider to Paws with Purpose. 

The doctor's goal is to provide veterinary services essential to ensure a long and productive and loving relationship between the service animal and client. 

Another program is Kosair's Childrens Heart Transplant program, where he introduced the concept of animal healing. 

"Animals do things for people that we do not understand.  What I do understand is that animals help people". 

From the doctor's involvement in these and other eleemosynary pursuits, has come a determination to ensure that the service animal stays with it's client for life.  Through medical malpractice, and related issues this is in jeopardy, and these "service pets" are taken away from people unexpectedly and needlessly.  Dr. Vaughn has dedicated himself prevent this wherever possible through education, treatment and expert testimony and opinion.
